These are family members of two of the men she took her revenge on 40 years earlier. When Jennifer and Christie leave the restaurant, they are approached by two sketchy characters who claim they would like Jennifer to autograph a copy of her book. She has also taken up being a rape counselor and that also seems to be going well. Here, we find out that Jennifer has become a best selling author with her memoir about her attacks.
It opens with Jennifer Hills meeting her daughter Christie for lunch. The film takes place 40 years after the events of the first film. Zarchi had actually written the script before the 2010 remake but shelved it to give room to the remake and its sequels. With original director Meir Zarchi pulling the strings and Camille Keaton reprising her role as Jennifer Hills, this sequel looked very promising. I Spit On Your Grave: Deja Vu looked very promising. In 2019, fans of the original rejoiced when a direct sequel to the 1978 film was released. I’d say it’s safe to skip this one but it isn’t completely insufferable. While the film starts out strong, it ends poorly. Maybe even taking a look at the legal aspect of what happened. Seeing Jennifer Hills live her day to day life. As a fan of the first movie, I would have loved to see the aftermath. I just feel like this movie missed a large opportunity. However, don’t expect to receive the same level of satisfaction. We do see Jennifer Hills taking out people that deserve to be taking out. This new friend proves to be a bad influence on Jennifer and takes her vigilante justice to a new level. She has no trust in men at all and uses this to bond with another girl from group therapy. She attends a group therapy with other victims of trauma. She is no longer writing and is instead a crisis hotline operator. We see Jennifer living her life after her attacks. I Spit On Your Grave 3: Vengeance is Mine brings back our new age Jennifer Hills. As expected, this one also suffered a lot of criticism. Katie gets her revenge in a very satisfying string of events.
This particular series is all about the woman coming out on top in the end and this one is no different. We get the added terror of being forcefully drugged and being trafficked to a new country. If you enjoyed the first movie for what it is, then you will also like this one.
But no worries, she does get the chance to take her revenge.
As these films go, Katie suffers various forms of abuse. Katie wakes up in a basement tied to a mattress in an entirely different country. The brother returns to her apartment again and this time, it doesn’t go as smoothly.Īll three brothers end up attacking Katie and she is also forcefed drugs and kidnapped by the trio. Later that evening, one of the brothers shows up to her home and apologizes for the issues at the shoot and offers her a flashdrive of her photos. She is asked to take topless photos but she declines and leaves. Upon arriving to the shoot, she meets three brothers.
Katie is an aspiring model who receives an offer for a free photoshoot. In fact, we have an all new character, Katie. I Spit On Your Grave 2 does not pick up where the first left off. I will not be covering that here except to tell you to watch it. I’ve already discussed the 2010 remake in my review of the original.
